I've decided to try Jory at Weird Tales as soon as they decide what they're doing with Mirror, Mirror (though Paradox is a definite possibility), and To Cross the Darkening Sea is going to Black Gate. Yes, I know I've got a future date on there, but I want to once-over before I send it out, and it's Buffy night, so it sure as hell ain't happening tonight.

Ayah. I need to update more often. Blogger ate my template, which basically meant that even though I posted an update, it wouldn't actually UPDATE because the template went kaput. And I couldn't just take the source code and paste it, because of the blogger tags. So, basically, I had to choose the old template and go through the code line by line with the source until I could restore everything. I haven't updated the sidebars yet because it's more finicky template work and I've wasted enough time already, but for the most part, Expansinations is restored! Hurrah! So, without further ado, here is:

State of the Writer
As of January 28, 2003:

Tides of Change

ACCEPTED!

Appearing in TALES FROM THE WONDER ZONE: ODYSSEY

Coming in May 2003 from Trifolium Books, a division of Fitzhenry & Whiteside.

To Soothe The Savage Beast

Winner!- Isaac Asimov Award 2001 - Honourable Mention

Rejected - favourably by Ellen Datlow

Rejected - favourably by F&SF

Rejected - very favourably by Black Gate

Rejected - by Realms of Fantasy

Word Count: 9,800

Mirror, Mirror

Rejected - Isaac Asimov Award 2002

Rejected - 3SF magazine, April 29, 2002

Rewrite requested - Weird Tales Magazine -Jan 28, 2002

Word Count: 7,217

Jory's Song

Cut from final 15 - Isaac Asimov Award 2002

Rejected - favourably by F & SF

Rejected - favourably Ellen Datlow, May 2002

Rejected - by Imaginings

Submitted - to Black Gate Magazine, September 1 2002.

Word Count: 8,000

Expected response - 01-03

The Mural

Rejected - F&SF

In Revision

Princesses

In Revision for submission

Okay, in the big news, I MADE MY FIRST PROFESSIONAL SALE!!!! Tides of Change has been sold to Julie, and will be appearing in TALES FROM THE WONDER ZONE: ODYSSEY in May.

And in even more big news, Weird Tales asked me to resubmit the story after trimming it a little, because they really like it and want to use it. HURRAY!

Savage Beast got a great rejection from Black Gate -- personalized, saying he REALLY regretted turning it down and wanted to see more. I sent him Jory, which was on-hand but I'm not sure is right for him, and I'm prepping Princesses for the next round.

I'm also considering pulling The Hunt back out and tinkering with that for a bit.

Savage Beast has to go back out, I just don't know where yet, and Mirror, Mirror is at Weird Tales.

I'm a professionally published author!!!!!
